Galasso’s Cucina Italiana Pizza & Restaurant, formerly located on Bridge Street in Frenchtown, was shut down when a tractor-trailer crashed into a nearby telephone pole, caught fire and destroyed the building in August 2018, the eatery’s website says.

After spending two years rebuilding, Galasso’s owners Guido Romeo and Giuseppe Scotto Di Carlo are ready to reopen their new pizzeria in the Hunterdon Hills Plaza in Lebanon on Dec. 17.

“Dear my fellow customers, the day has finally come!” reads a Dec. 12 post on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “We all missed you so very much and we are waiting for you to come back and have your delicious meals and pizzas!”

The new location will serve up all the restaurant’s specialty pies and classic Italian entrees seven days a week. Subs, cheesesteaks, calzones, stromboli and seafood options are also available.

“We want to thank you all for your patience and support during our journey, and cannot wait to see you again!” the Facebook post says.

“Welcome back to Galasso’s!”
